Applied Coating Systems has entered into an exclusive partnership with Rhenotherm to expand its global presence.
Rhenotherm Kunststoffbeschichtungs GmbH was founded in Krefeld, Germany, in 1977 as an enterprise specializing in the fluoroplastic coating of industry parts. In the beginning, the company focused primarily on standard coating systems under the DuPont license (correct: the legendary Teflon® pan). However, compared to the pan’s quick rise to success, the benefits of fluoroplastic coatings for industrial processes were much slower to catch on.
Just like other “technology pioneers,” we acquired a profound understanding of this problem, thanks to our increasing market presence and the close dialogue with our customers – all the while growing into one of the leading coating enterprises in Germany over the course of barely ten years.
In 1985, we founded the independent operating division Rhenotherm Mini Parts GmbH, which focuses mainly on the coating of small and miniature component parts, such as those used in the automotive, electronics, computer and fine-mechanical industries.
In the course of further development and thanks to our increasing specialization, we secured the exclusive license for ORIGINAL PLASMA COATINGS® in Germany in 1997. Our operations in this area focus on patented coating processes, primarily for the adhesive film, label, paper, diaper and foil industries.
Our latest technologies include the zero-tolerance application of diamond-like HARD-COAT surface finish (DLC coating) under dry lubrication conditions. In order to guarantee our customers a consistent standard and continuity of quality in all of our working areas, we obtained certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 in 1995.
After 25 successful years of operation at our Krefeld site, the economic situation necessitated an expansion of our production capabilities.
A new site in Kempen, Germany, opened in September 2002, featuring the latest in kiln technology and control engineering. Optimal customer satisfaction has been achieved though a considerable increase in capacity and personnel.
